If there was no choice , would there be life ? If there were no crossroads , would there be good or bad ,? If they were no decisions , would there be understanding ? Crossroads , choices and decisions , each of them are as vital as the oxygen and water which we rely upon . A person who cannot make a choice is doomed to complexity so complex that no one can fathom how is that person able to think . Thus , begins my thoughts about these convoluted , complicated object of pondering ..
CHOICE ...
If you have a choice , what would you make of it ? Can you make the right choice ? Can you determine what choice is there to choose from ? All of this , remains upon the thinker to choose what is right , what is wrong and what must be taken . If i had a choice to go back in time to correct what i want rectified , i would do so gladly , without thinking of the consequences .. HOWEVER , when you think of the consequences , when you have studied the lines that lead to the aftermath of the rectification , i can conclude that i would rather not turn back the clock .. If i had the opportunity to rectify my foolishness during my excursions in the year-end party in Form 2 , i would , of course , try to rectify it .. The problem remains palpable , though , that i would not be able to learn from mistakes . If you keep going back to rectify your mistakes , you will be more careless than usual until , eventually , even going back to change the past is disastrous .. If i had the chance to retake my failed examinations , i would be cheating myself if i had done it .. Of course , in my melancholy times , these two incidents , possibilities , i would say , would creep in and the urge to turn back is overwhelming .. But , i can't .. which leads me to the next word ; crossroads .
CROSSROADS ...
When i say crossroads , i mean taking an immediate choice . A pathway , junction , a turn in life .. All of this mean the same thing . However , unlike choices , crossroads appear directly in front of us . Let's take for an example , i have always maintained my results to above satisfactory . Now , say i forgo that . Crossroad A leads me to studying well to achieve flying colours . Crossroads B leads me to studying enough to gain satisfactory results . Crossroad C induces me not to study at all . Had i taken crossroad C , my life would have been for the worse . ( incidentally , i chose crossroad B =.= , still have no idea how i got 2nd in Form 4 finals ) . Of course , the choice [ see , it remains a choice still ] ..is up to me . I still have a sane mind to study , unlike some other raving people who regard people who study as " no life bastards " . i force myself to peruse the huge amount of books that lie , almost mockingly , in front of my study table . These crossroads , of course , are factors in our everyday life . A mother of two , facing financial problems , once said , " I should have never gotten my second child if i had known life is difficult with two children ." Besides hurting the child's feelings , she has decided that the crossroad she took was the wrong one . HOWEVER , the choice was hers . She should have thought of it before going through the procedure . A father of two , once said to his second child , who is a tad mischievous , " I should have left you to kidnappers instead of wasting my money on you ! " WHY , then should he waste his money on the child , if he wants to make useless , vile threats like that ? The choice was his .. That thought disgust me . And to think that i know both of them who quoted those sentences . Crossroads lead to choices , Choices make crossroads . A relation of importance ..
DECISIONS ...
I have said nothing about decisions in the above two words . However , they have everything to do with decisions . A wise decision leads to wise moves . The issue remains , CAN you always make a wise or smart decision ? Making decision is like playing chess . In fact , chess has everything to do with making decision . You have to know how to make a correct or smart decision . To make a decision is to understand the factors in it . If you fail to understand what must be understood , then , your decision would be woefully wrong , statistically speaking . One should know the vagaries of understanding something before deciding upon an action. Action .. reaction .. both rely on deciding .. That has always been a factor in life .
These three words ; Choices , Crossroads and Decisions are something that everyone should take into consideration . Fail to notice , fail to understand , and life shall be miserable ...
